Hidden Natural Paradises and Eco-Tourism Potential of Green Bursa

Bursa is a natural wonder not only with its magnificent history, but also with its 2,543-meter Uludağ, the highest point of the Marmara Region, untouched canyons, gurgling waterfalls and floodplain forests, which are rare in the world. A 2-day comprehensive nature route for those who want to explore this geography, which takes on a different beauty in four seasons:

1. Day: Call of the Summit - Uludağ Summit, Glacial Lakes and Sarıalan

Depart from Teferrüç Station with Bursa Teleferik early in the day. After reaching the Hotels Zone at an altitude of 1,800 meters, start walking towards the basin of the glacial lakes Kilimli Göl, Karagöl and Aynalı Göl by following the marked trekking paths with a guide. Endemic Uludağ firs, mountain tulips and thyme scents accompany you along the way. Watch the Bursa plain from a bird's eye view by stopping by Bakacak Seyir Kayası and take a break for the famous mountain trout or grill at the wooden countryside restaurants in Sarıalan.

2. Morning of the Day: Exploration of Suuçtu Waterfall and Sadağı Canyon

On the second day, turn the route to Suuçtu Waterfall and Nature Park in Mustafakemalpaşa district. The rainbow and cool water vapor created by water falling through beech and oak trees from a height of 38 meters are fascinating. Then go to Sadağı Canyon Nature Park in Orhaneli district. While walking along the 12-kilometer canyon corridor along wooden walking bridges, you can examine limestone cliffs and Roman-era rock reliefs.

2. Day Afternoon: Karacabey Floodplain Forests and Birdwatching

The last stop of the route is Karacabey Longoz Forest, the second largest floodplain forest in Türkiye. The lake surface is covered with lotus flowers, centuries-old ash trees and a sanctuary of biodiversity with more than 250 species of migratory birds (black storks, pelicans, flamingos). You can photograph the forest from the wooden bird observation towers and bid farewell to the day by the Marmara Sea in Yeniköy.
