Treasures of Ancient Nicaea: New İznik Archaeology Museum
Inaugurated as a flagship cultural institution in İznik, this museum displays 5,000 years of civilization from the Neolithic to the Ottoman eras. Its crown jewels are the Roman marble sarcophagi excavated from the Hisardere necropolis and artifacts recovered from the submerged 4th-century lakeside basilica.
