The Sultan's Mansion Built in 19 Days: Its History

Located in the lap of pine forests in the Temenyeri location, at the foot of Uludağ, Hünkar Mansion (Kasr-ı Hümayun) was built in 1844 by the then Governor of Bursa, Mehmed Salih Pasha, in honor of the visit of the Ottoman Sultan Sultan Abdülmecid Han to Bursa, in a record time, in just 19 days. It was built.

The mansion later hosted Sultan Abdülaziz in 1862 and Mehmed V Reşat in 1909. During the Republic period, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stayed in this mansion during his historical visits to Bursa (1922, 1925, 1931 and 1935), and after the War of Independence, he made important strategic decisions and revolutionary conversations in this historical mansion.

• French Empire Style Wooden Architecture: The two-storey mansion attracts attention with its elegant wooden frame architecture, symmetrical facade layout and stained glass windows that reflect the palace elegance of the period.
• Atatürk's Bedroom and Study Room: On the upper floor, the brass bed, original silk quilt, writing desk and lounge chairs used by Atatürk himself are preserved in the original form of the period.
• Reception Hall and Ceiling Engravings: Ceiling decorations decorated with flower, fruit and landscape motifs, original mirrors with gold leaf and French porcelain stoves display the richness of the period.
• Panoramic Garden and Fountain: The garden of the mansion has an enormous panoramic balcony overlooking the Bursa Plain. The marble pool with fountain and the century-old pines in the garden are peaceful.

The mansion is located on the borders of Mollaarap District of Yıldırım district, just above Temenyeri Park.

• By Public Transportation: You can get off at the entrance gate of the mansion by taking buses number 37 or Mollaarap minibuses departing from Statue Square.
• By walking: You can reach it in about 20 minutes by climbing the hill following the Temenyeri recreation area towards the east from Heykel or Setbaşı.
• Parking:There is free car parking for visitors at the entrance of the mansion.
